Job: Mechanical Design Engineer, d2 Recruitment

Our client is committed to growing its UK Building Services Group over the next few years to become a leading player in their chosen markets and be the consultant of choice for our clients. They are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer. This position is with their expanding Building Services team based in Manchester.

Personal Specification

You will ideally be a proactive, self motivated individual who is prepared to work diligently and able to demonstrate commitment, leadership and loyalty. The ideal candidate will need to be able to design, deliver and manage multi-discipline projects effectively and profitably. They will also have experience of developing business through reputation on project delivery and contributing to new business opportunities.

They are looking for an individual who can 'lead by example' and act as a mentor within the team and also someone who has previous experience of leading from the front. This person must have an in-depth knowledge of building services techniques so they will be able to impart this knowledge to other members of the team. Ideally the ideal candidate will have a Chartered Engineer/relevant qualification or working towards this status.

The candidate should also:

Be fully conversant with Microsoft packages and have the ability to utilise other project related software

Have good report writing skills

Have excellent communication skills.

The candidate will be expected to want to develop their career with SKM through internal and external training

programmes and individual learning

Job Description

The role will principally entail:

Hands on design

Controlling and mentoring staff

Design reviews

Budget control and monitoring

Business development

Help develop and grow the mechanical team

Demonstrate ability to deliver competently within agreed budget and timeframes.
