Knowledge of public sector processes and procurement is essential.

May consider field sales experience if now seeking a more office based sales role.

Company:

Our client is a professional and niche publishing company who specialise in creating case studies and business articles within public sector magazines, allowing private sector companies to advertise their services to the public sector.

Role:

A largely office based sales role with opportunities for client visits. Conceptually and strategically selling these specialist advertising solutions in to range of companies in various business sectors who wish to market their services or products within a range of four titles, including Education, NHS, Government and Public Sector publications. Developing a profitable client base through researching companies, developing leads, cold calling identifying valuable client and building relationships with decision makers. Using a consultative sales approach in order to fact find, understand the clients needs, industry and long term requirements, overcome objections, sell the benefits of this advertising concept and close business. This role will naturally involve in to account management where you will be fully responsible for all client development, cross selling and maximising revenue. Industry training and conceptual/solution sales guidance will be provided. Qualifying client visits where essential to meet clients face to face to close business.

Requirements:

Applicants for this public sector sales role will have knowledge of public sector processes and how public sector functions combined with proven business to business sales experience gained in advertising or an alternative business to business telesales/sales/internal/field sales environment where you have had exposure to the public sector. You may currently be selling IT solutions, furniture, office products, healthcare or similar in to public sector clients and as such will be full conversant with the procurement process. You will be a consultative sales person who understands the steps of the sale and the importance of the sales cycle in acquiring valuable new business and understanding clients needs.
