Job: Senior Cobol Analyst Programmer - Cobol, Actis IT Recruitment

This market leading software house who specialise in the supply of financial administration software to the corporate and public sector markets is seeking to recruit an experienced Cobol Analyst Programmer.

JOB: Working in a team environment you will be responsible for analysis, design, development (Cobol) and testing working closely with several teams to deliver high quality Cobol developed solutions. Covering the full development life cycle, you will also be expected to contribute in improving the system either in terms of functionality, run-time, or maintainability. In addition you will also be involved in release and change, data transformation, documentation, administration and troubleshooting.

PERSON: An experienced Cobol programmer (ideally Micro Focus) you should possess strong Systems Analysis skills, with a good knowledge of databases (pref SQL Server, Oracle) ideally having developed on Unix or Windows platforms although serious consideration will be given to mainframe developers possessing the necessary qualifications. You should also possess experience of working as Lead Developer on projects and of mentoring more junior staff. You will be educated to degree level (2:2 Hons min) and possess 3 strong A level grades.
