Job purpose:
To effectively manage teams of people to ensure that the plan is delivered on time and to standard.
To support the team coordinators in the resolutions of day to day issues
To develop people and processes to drive constant improvement within their area.
Must Have:
1 Experience of managing small teams.
2 A logical and clear thinking approach particularly under pressure.
3 To be able to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills.
4 Flexible approach to work
5 Ability to identify and develop individuals within their teams
6 Some understanding of management by key performance indicators/
Preferred not essential:
1 Experience in the food industry especially chilled food or FMCG.
2 Experience of automation/semi-automation equipment/environment.
3 Certificate in management or equivalent.
4 Basic food hygiene/advanced food hygiene certificate.
Role Accountabilities:
1 Review manning levels and ensure that teams have correct skills and numbers on a daily basis.
2 Responsible for all line performance KPI’s on quality safety and performance.
3 Review performance daily with teams and agree action plans to improve
4 Ensure that all set standards and KPI’s are achieved; ensure that all performance data is recorded accurately uses this information to drive improvements within their area.
5 Liaise with the planning team to meet daily orders
6 Motivate and manage performance and attendance of staff including communication, disciplinary action, absence reviews, appraisal and performance review. Ensure all RTW’s are completed, holiday authorisation and co-ordination.
7 Identify training and development needs for staff, coordinate training needs of individuals, and deliver via the team co-ordinators. Carry out regular reviews with staff to discuss performance and training needs
8 Audit and review quality and safety standards on line to ensure factory standards are followed and creates a safe working environment within area by training, hazard spotting and enforcing GMP housekeeping standards.
9 Undertake team briefs/cell reviews on a daily basis that focus on key performance measures aligned to local productivity and area performance and wider business issues.
10 Identify improvement projects and deliver savings on labour and materials within your area
11 Any other duty as advised by the production manager.
