WHAT ARE BURY COLLEGE APPRENTICESHIPS? Bury College Apprenticeships are high quality work based learning programmes that have been designed and developed to work alongside employment to improve understanding, skills and ultimately your future career prospects through gaining nationally recognised qualifications. Bury College Apprenticeships provide outstanding training to both employers and learners by combining quality employment with exceptional work-based training programmes. ARE BURY COLLEGE APPRENTICESHIPS FOR NEW OR EXISTING STAFF? We can provide Apprenticeships training for existing staff as well as for new recruits. We will discuss the best training plan to meet the needs of the individual and your business. We can assist with the recruitment of staff as an additional ‘no cost’ service. HOW IS TRAINING DELIVERED? Learning is flexible and is completed mainly in the work place at times that is convenient to the employer and the learner. Some Apprenticeship programmes require a day or evening attendance at College. Each learner is allocated an individual Assessor to supervise and monitor their progress throughout the duration of the training scheme. WHAT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS ARE THERE? There are no formal qualifications to go onto an Apprenticeship. HOW MUCH DOES A BURY COLLEGE APPRENTICESHIP COST? There is NO COST* to the trainee or the employer for Apprenticeship training. The only cost to the employer is the trainee’s salary. WHAT ARE THE PROGRESSION ROUTES? Following an Apprenticeship Level 2, Apprentices can progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship which is the equivalent of a Level 3 qualification. STEP UP TO H.E. Higher National Certificate/Diploma: An HND will enable entry to a degree course. Foundation Degrees: This can be studied on a day release basis, and furthered to a Bachelors degree with additional study. National Vocational Qualification Level 4 and 5: These are commonly based around management roles and may be more applicable as the learner progresses in their chosen career. Professional Qualifications: Successful completion of this type of qualification will grant membership to relevant sector Association or Institute.
